About Education in St. Louis
Information on Charter Schools and other Educational options in St. Louis City
Education is important to our City
Providing a quality education is one of the most important gifts we can give our children. It is also the cornerstone of strong neighborhoods. As a parent, I know that one of the most important decisions my wife and I made concerned our children's education. As Mayor, I believe that parents want and deserve quality options for their children.
Your family can choose from a variety of quality educational services within the City of St. Louis. On this page you will find information about public, charter, parochial and independent schools. Parents can select high quality pre-school, elementary, middle, and high schools. The choices include national and state Blue Ribbon Schools. Some of the nation's best colleges and universities are also located in or near the City of St. Louis.
During my tenure, we have worked tirelessly to preserve our traditions and build a future of great schools. Over the past two years, a group of civic leaders and concerned citizens has been working with the St. Louis Public Schools to make substantial, systemic improvement in our public schools. At the same time, new opportunities have arisen among charter and private schools.
I invite you to contact the dedicated educators in our community and learn of the opportunities for your children.
