Options on how to pay a water bill issued by the City of St. Louis Water Division

There are several ways to pay a water bill. In person at several locations, by mail, by direct payment from a checking or savings account, and by credit card online.

Bills are mailed quarterly.


To pay a water bill one needs the water bill account number. This number is included on the water bill upper-right corner.


In Person

In person payment is possible at the following locations:

All checks are to be made payable to "Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue."
Checks, money orders, and travelers checks are accepted. 
No cash is accepted.

To pay the water bill credit card call 1-877-309-4928 or follow the online payment method below.


Online payment requires the creation of an account.

Customers can Sign-up on the Water Division Website

Customers with existing account can login on the Water Division website and proceeded with the payment.

Direct payment from a checking or savings account

One can pay water bills directly from a personal checking or savings account by establishing a Direct Payment Plan.

This is a no-cost service and can be cancelled at anytime. 

Request a Direct Payment Plan form by calling St. Louis Collector of Revenue's Office at (314) 622-4179, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

A billing notice with all the billing information is mailed and the payment amount is automatic.

Flat Rate Vs Metered Rate

Residential water users interested in exploring a flat rate need to contact the Water Division and ask if they qualify for the flat rate. The Water Division can assess whether a flat rate is comparable to a customer metered rate and/or calculate such rate.
