The City of St. Louis Department of Health announced it has been notified of the first death related to COVID-19 in the City of St. Louis. The female patient in her 30s passed away on March 22, 2020. No additional information about the patient will be released due to privacy laws.
“This tragic loss to our community is a reminder that no one is immune to getting COVID-19. Anyone, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status can get infected if they are exposed. For this reason, everyone must protect themselves, their family, friends and colleagues, by following the preventive measures and social distancing guidelines,” said Dr. Fredrick Echols, Director of Health for the City of St. Louis. As of 2.00 p.m. today there have been 20 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the City of St. Louis.
