Overview

The Georgian Square Community Improvement District has the power impose a tax of up to one percent upon retail sales within its bounds, as laid out in the Petition to Establish.

The District's term of existence is thirty-two years.

Member Requirements

Appointments require Board of Aldermen approval.

The District's board comprises five Directors appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Board of Aldermen. Each Director, during his or her term, must: "(a) be at least 18 years of age; (b) either be an owner of real property or their legally authorized representative within the District ('Owner'), an owner of a business or their legally authorized representative operating within the District ('Operator'); and (c) at any time after issuance of the first certificate of occupancy for any residential property within the District, each Director must be an operator."
Successive Directors shall have four-year terms.
